Types of Home Additions
Each home addition project is unique, but they generally fall into a few categories: conventional home additions, conversions, and sunrooms. A conventional addition usually means you build up or build out. The key is designing the new space—both its exterior and interior—so that it fits seamlessly into the existing house.

Conversions

Attic spaces make great entertainment rooms, guest rooms and kids’ playrooms. Basements can be finished into one large area, like a guest suite, or multiple rooms for different functions as well.
Garages, whether detached or attached, can also be turned into a guest space, apartment, entertainment room, home gym, home office, home studio—whatever you want your new space to be.
Sunrooms
A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with large windows and views of the outdoors. If you have a porch or patio, you only use a few months a year, why not convert it into a year-round space?
